United Methodist Men
is a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know
Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually, and to seek God's will daily. They
seek to be involved
in various areas of church membership and service and encourage all men
to study
and become familiar with the United Methodist Church.
The United Methodist
Men of Trinity meet the first Saturday Morning of each month
at 7:30 a.m. in Rooms 201-205. We share breakfast and fellowship as we
gather to
grow in our faith.
Trinity United Methodist Men have had many opportunities to serve our church, community
and others. UMM is not just a group of men who meet for breakfast once a month. UMM is
a ministry of Trinity, having been called upon to paint in Bristol House, sort tools for youth
mission trips, build sound panels for the sanctuary, build cubby holes for Trinity Early
Learning Center, paint the stage for the summer musical, trim and clean the parking lot
across the street…….
Funds from the annual
Easter Pancake Breakfast support:
Trinity Youth, Boy Scout Troop 560, The Wesley Foundation at UTA, and
Aldersgate Enrichment Center in Brownwood, Texas.
The Methodist Men at Trinity are proud to extend the tradition of the
Methodist Men's
Marble. Created by Jesse Shwayder as a symbol of the philosophy upon which
he
founded the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company (now the Samsonite Corporation),
a marble encircled with a band bearing the Golden Rule was initially given
to employees
and customers as a reminder of the universal doctrine of the Golden Rule.
It has since
been adopted by many Methodist Men's organizations across the country.
The marble, until
recently, was available in four colors; red, blue, green, and white, and
bears a gold imprint of the Golden Rule.However, it is currently out of
production. All
Methodist Men fortunate enough to have one are encouraged to keep it with
them at
all times as a sign of fellowship to other Methodist Men. Don't be caught
without your
Methodist Men's marble!
EMS stands for
Every Man Shares in Evangelism,
Mission and
Spiritual Life,
another
way of saying that God's men are given the opportunity to share the gifts
they
have been graciously given by God. "Encouraged to be doers of
the Word, and
not merely hearers." James 1:22 God's plan for each of us is
finding something
new, then to do hew things in God's will.
