Appointment
Peggy
Lively has agreed to participate on the Alpha Practitioners' Advisory Team,
a team of experienced and passionate practitioners from churches with
track records of vibrant Alpha Courses. It
is expected the Team's activities will include: reporting on where and how
the Holy Spirit is working through Alpha; advising us of trends, needs
and best practices; providing feedback on ideas for more and better Alpha
Courses and being a communication link with other practitioners in the
Dallas-Fort Worth metro- plex region.

Gifts One Spirit Volunteers
and those who feel a passion for telling others about Jesus Christ are urged to
become involved in ongoing Alpha Courses and upcoming offerings. Many
gifts are needed other than leading a table or serving as a host. Hospitality
is a key ingredient to helping others feel loved pre- paring and serving
meals & greeting guests. Singers & musicians are needed to help with
our Worship Team. Prayer warriors are needed to pray. Those with marketing
and advertising skills are needed to spread the word. Book lovers are needed
at the book table. And more
Please consider what you have
to offer. We
can tell others about Jesus through our act of service for others using our
unique gifts. Contact Peggy Lively : peggylively@alphausa.org.
to discuss how you can help. Alpha
DFW Peggy
Lively is leading a group of "Alpha Churches" in the area known as Alpha
DFW. The churches meet quarterly to share ideas and support one another in
the Alpha Ministry in their respective churches. It
is hoped that churches, particularly smaller churches, can combine resources
for training and joint weekend Alpha activities such as the Weekend
Away. Trinity
and other churches in the area, have served as mentoring churches to churches
wanting to offer Alpha. After attending the course in the mentoring church,
they feel better equipped and coached to present the course at their church. Pastor
Anthony Callahan from the Bread of Life Church in Fort Worth will attend Trinity's
January Course with his wife, son, and other leadership from the church. A
website has been developed to assist individuals in obtaining information
about DFW area courses. It is www.alphadfw.org.
Alpha
Childcare Volunteers
are needed to help with children over 4 years of age. Helpers
are required to have appropriate Safe Sanctuaries training. Contact
Peggy Lively at peggylively@alphausa.org
or Call 817-561-0441 for more information.

Alpha
Training Experienced
and inexperienced leaders and hosts must receive training "each course". Lisa
McCulloch, our Alpha Trainer has revised training to one Saturday (Sessions
1 & 2) and one evening (Session 3) Emphasis is on team building,
worship, prayer, and spiritual goals of the whole Alpha Team, not just
the leaders and helpers. Other churches from Terrell, Fort Worth, Dallas
and Temple joined our Trinity Alpha Team at the January training .

Stories from Seekers What
easier way to "tell others" about Jesus Christ than to tell our
personal stories? If
you have a testimony you would like included in the Newsletter, forward it to
Peggy Lively at Peggylively@alphausa.org

on to "Testimonies" on main Alpha page to read more.
Alpha
Donations Consider
supporting the Alpha Ministry by donating a charitable gift in memory or in honor
of loved one. What
greater gift can you bring than to tell others about Jesus? Knowing Him and having
a personal relationship with Him is the purpose of the Alpha Course. Checks can
be made payable to Trinity United Methodist Church with notation for the Alpha
Ministry. The
Alpha Ministry at Trinity would like to acknowledge and give thanks to those anonymous
donors that have fueled the fire of God's love and glorified Him through
your financial gift.
In
Memoriam The
Trinity UMC church family, Alpha Team and guests grieve the recent death of
Wally Gillman. Wally
went on the Alpha Course in the fall of 2000 with his wife Joyce. They felt
a calling to offer the course at Angel Fire, New Mexico where they have another
residence. On their return to Arlington at summers end, they continued
their commitment to growing the Alpha minis- try at Trinity. Wally became
a course leader, a member of the Alpha Council and ultimately the Alpha
Coordinator of In-house Courses. Many
have claimed a relationship with Jesus Christ or grown in their faith under
Wally's love and leadership. His gentle encouragement and willingness to help
others was a model of Christian living. His example is a beacon for those
of us left behind; one of making people feel they belonged while seeking
to believe. We
rejoice in knowing that he is with the Lord he glorified and loved so much.
God
be with you til we meet again Wally.
