Understanding Safe Sanctuaries

All persons wishing to volunteer to work with children in any capacity at
Trinity United Methodist Church must be cleared through the Safe
Sanctuaries child protection plan. Prospective volunteers must complete
the Safe Sanctuaries Volunteer Application Form (available at the Training
Sessions and in the Church Office) and submit it to the Church Office.
Prospective volunteers should also give a Safe Sanctuaries Reference
Check Form to three (3) individuals who can complete the form to serve
as references. The individuals should then return the completed Reference
Check form to the Church Office within 10 days of receipt. The Safe
Sanctuaries Reference Check Form. If the prospective Volunteer wishes
to serve as a driver for children's events and activities, he/she must
complete and return to the Church Office the Safe Sanctuaries Application
for Inclusion on List of Approved Drivers Form. Copies of the applicant's
driver's license and automobile insurance verification must be submitted
with the Application for Inclusion on List of Approved Drivers Form.
Applicants will be notified of their approval to serve as a Safe Sanctuaries
Volunteer with children and youth once he/she has been cleared through
a background check and once all necessary forms have been received in
the Church Office.

The Safe Sanctuaries Policy and Procedures for the Prevention of Abuse
of Children and Youth at Trinity United Methodist Church is available in
the Church Office for your review or a copy will be given to you at the
training session. The required paperwork will be i
ssued at the training session, or can be picked up in the Church Office.


Safe Sanctuaries Training Sessions
Only one training session is required,
so pick the date and time that is most convenient for you.
